BIOGRAPHY

The Sensitive Nachos were a band formed by Thomas Bjorkstrand and C.J. McKenna in the horrible place that is New Port Richey, Florida. Although they had songs that fit other genres, they primarily stuck with a mix of rap and pop punk songs. Thomas was heavily inspired by bands like Bowling for Soup, Masked Intruder, Bloodhound Gang, and Psychostick. It all started in April of 2014, when Thomas discovered GarageBand on his iPhone. He began to make instrumentals in his free time. While at school, he was showing his friend C.J. an instrumental that he had made. C.J. began to rap over it as a joke, and something clicked in that moment. The two had found out what they were going to do for the rest of 9th grade. They worked on songs in the River Ridge High School cafeteria. They were told to shut up multiple times, but that didn't stop them. They decided that they needed cool rapper names and a band name. Thomas was christened T-Homas, while C.J. became Colby Jack. Colby gave a list of possible band names to T-Homas, and T-Homas loved one of them. THE SENSITIVE NACHOS. T-Homas went on to write more instrumentals, and almost all of the lyrics. Occasionally Colby would say a line as a joke, and T-Homas would actually put it into the song. They recorded the songs in mostly one take. Eventually T-Homas realized that they had enough songs to put on an album, and their first album, Under the Influence, was released. Two weeks of being a band, and their first record was already out. Soon most of the losers in the school wanted a copy of their album... UNTIL THEY HEARD IT. The band fell apart shortly after the release, due to T-Homas' decision to write pop punk songs by himself. The two started a new band with T-Homas being the only vocalist. While recording an EP under the new band's name, T-Homas took a listen to Under the Influence again. He suddenly lost interest in the new band, and wanted to go back to doing The Sensitive Nachos. The two spent a long time trying to re-record Under the Influence because they were unhappy with the quality, and sloppy performance. They soon realized that they should just leave it alone and move on. In December of 2014, T-Homas came up with an idea to do a Christmas EP. Christmas was only a few days away and T-Homas wrote some pop songs in the theme of the holiday on his acoustic guitar. He recorded them, and Colby Jack added some vocals in. A Sensitive Christmas was met with favorable reviews by friends of the band. They eventually found some new places to record their rap songs at school and continued to annoy and cause havoc. Cops were called, jocks recorded them, people stared at them. It was all for the love of music. T-Homas continued to wrote pop punk songs, recording them at his house using GarageBand for drums. Colby would then play bass on the songs, but purposely mixed the bass in quietly, because he was lazy, and didn't feel like trying. In February of 2015 they released Primegalime. Colby Jack quit the band a lot in 2015 due to musical and political differences, and being sick of constantly recording. T-Homas always knew how to drag him back in, though. In March they released Broken Bones, Broken Homes, and Floor Lamps. It was a release that was never planned. All the tracks were recorded the day they released it, with the exception of the classic song, "Alyssa!". The EP got little to no attention from the world, but the two didn't care. They weren't doing it for the popularity. May of 2015 brought the final release by The Sensitive Nachos, By Losers, For Losers. The most diverse release from the band, and one that is often considered the album that defines them the best. It has the wacky sense of humor of T-Homas and the lovable lo-fi vibe. When they released it, they both knew it was going to be the final album. They had settled on ending the band. Colby felt that it was time to move on. They were around from April, 2014 to May, 2015. In that short time they put out five releases and even played two acoustic shows at their high school. One of them was to no people, and the other was to five of their friends before school started. The two went on to form many other bands and projects, but there was something different about the Sensitive Nachos. In the year and one month they were together they had no hardcore fans or support from anyone in the scene. Then again, they never got involved or planned for anything. The band existed to have something to do during their bored and lonely days of high school. This band serves as an inspiration to get off your ass and do something with your time. Through the poor production and ridiculous lyrics is a high school friendship that will never be forgotten. THE SENSITIVE NACHOS WILL LIVE ON FOREVER!!
